Why did I wait so long? Runs great only 30 miles on it so far but none of the things (vibration, motor hit, all the things everyone warns about) feels a little more sporty because you do feel a little more motor down low, but isn’t that why we modify? I’m a 2006 road king 88 built to a 103. stroke, bore, S&S 1000 lbs pressed crank, aw54 cams, head work, rinehart true duals, hyper charger air intake, and a power commander programmer with my own hot map. A bump in compression (10 1/2 to 1). Easy install, the nut doesn’t completely cover crank end but noticed it looks exactly as pictured on Vulcans site so I checked thread coverage of factory compensator nut and the same amount of threads contact crank so good to go torqued just fine 75 lbs + 45 deg. Do not leave the washer off.I ride like a jerk went through 3 starters and two compensators all factory Harley. A lot tried to discourage this conversation but so far I love it. I will come back and up date after a couple thousand miles.

I have been using Vulcanworks products for many years, this is the second compensator eliminator that I have installed on my Scooters, the first was a Harley-Davidson twinkie, this one is for a Harley-Davidson Evo. The install is straight forward I used the 4709 shim set to achieve proper alignment on both Bikes. Vulcanworks gear sets do not require the large spacer that are necessary for the other manufacturers sell as “Bolt-On compensator gear set”. Once in hand you find that the Primary Chain alignment is off by more than 1/2″ requiring the search for a crankshaft spacer and more down time on the bike. VulcanWorks are a United States manufacturer and stand behind their products 100% of the time. I am not affiliated with Vulcanworks nor paid for my comments. I am just one happy customer! Thank you!

Why did I wait?! Comp problems are now gone. My softail fires up immediately. Its not any more noisy then any other Harley engine and drives great. A little better throttle response as well. I wish I would have made this purchase sooner. Great customer service verifying that it was the correct part before I bought it. I definitely recommend Vulcan and this eliminator and will make future purchases from them.

I was having problems starting my bike, the dreaded Harley Compensator Clunk. After going through 2 stock Compensators, I Installed the Vulcanworks 25t Compensator eliminator, and now my bike starts so fast it’s almost unbelievable. No more clunking and quicker throttle response. I should have done this years ago.
